what is the shelf life of your sugar while it is sealed? Once it is opened?
Response: The shelf life before opened is 2 years starting from the date of manufacture. We cannot advise on how long to keep a product after opening. -

Is the Rapunzel cocoa powder produced in a peanut-free facility? Our child has a peanut allergy and we're looking for an organic cocoa powder that is peanut safe.
Response: There are no peanuts in the cocoa powder and no possibility for cross contamination with peanuts for the cocoa powder. -

Your product organic cocoa powder, is it safe as far as nut allergies are concerned?
Response: We can not guarantee that the facility is free of tree nuts, so cross contamination is possible. Sorry for any inconvenience. -

Hi - I just bought a bottle of sunflower oil at the local food coop and upon opening it smelled rancid. The lot number on top reads F982 & 041-10. Was that oil also produced on the 41st day of 2010 (Feb 11, 2011) ? - see last question

Response: According to that code the product was produced on Feb 10, 2010 and has a shelf life of 550 days. Therefore, the best if used by date would be August 14, 2011. Please let us know if you have further questions. -

Do any of the Rapunzel products contain gluten? Are they produced in an environment where gluten products are processed? If so, do you test your products for gluten? Thanks for your time.
Response: There is no added gluten to our Bouillons however they are processed on the same lines and in the same facility as products containing gluten. We are unable to guarantee that this product is gluten free. -

In the book Nourishing Traditions, you were listed as a source for the sweetner Rapadura. I don't see it here on your website. Do you have it?
Response: Yes, our Whole Cane Sugar is Rapadura. Rapunzel decided to remove the Rapadura name, but it is still the same product. -

Response: We checked with the manufacturer and there are not gluten products used in the production of the Rapunzel organic cocoa powder.
